About Clarkston Christian Fellowship

Our history.

Clarkston Christian Fellowship (CCF) began in 2017 as a remote location home church of Calvary Chapel, Bozeman.  Several members lived in Clarkston and instead of driving to Bozeman, they decided to live stream the sermons into a private home.  This home served perfectly for the gatherings because it has a private roller rink above the shop.  And since they were meeting in a roller rink, they joking called themselves The Holy Rollers of Calvary Chapel.

Since that humble beginning, we have grown into our own church that hopes to serve the Clarkston Community.  CCF beliefs are that of the traditional Holy Bible Based Christian Church.  And although we closely mirror the theology of the Calvary Chapel Churches, we do have a few distinctions.  You can see our Theology Statement, Statement of Faith and our Mission Statement on this website.  Naturally, as any Christian Church should be doing, we welcome members of the Clarkston Community to come and join us.

In 2020, Pastor Nathan (Nate) Rutledge, volunteered to lead a Bible Study fir CCF.  By January of 2022, this still informal but growing church body asked Nathan to become their full time, volunteer Pastor.  In 2023, Pastor Nathan, his wife, Angie, and their children sold their house in Southern Broadwater County and moved to Clarkston to better serve the Lord, CCF and the community of Clarkston.  Since that time, CCF has formally and legally incorporated into a Not-for-Profit Entity, which we now call, Clarkston Christian Fellowship.

Ninety-nine percent of the time, CCF’s sermons are taught in a very orderly fashion. CCF"s teachings of the Bible are taught in an ongoing, Word by Word, Verse by Verse, Chapter by Chapter and Book by Book manner.  By teaching in this manner, you get all of the Holy Bible’s teachings, and much less of someone’s opinions that are usually heard in topical sermons.

Worship and Fellowship are very large parts of our Church’s traditions and goals.  Our average service may range from 15-60 people.  But no matter how many shows up, we start, and usually end with great worship music.  And afterwards we always have what has grown to be  a great potluck, AKA LOVE FEAST, lunch that most people stay for.  This time is usually spent conversing, teasing and bantering with each other, or praying for each other. Or we're playing cards, board games, corn hole, etc., until at least 2, 3 or 4 PM, not that anyone has to stay.

CCF is also blessed to have lots of young family members with lots of kids.  We love and encourage our young members to be active in church activities.  And kids, being kids, love this time too because the roller rink has spacious areas for playing.  And for the record, I think we have great coffee too, or as I call it, Christian Crack (we all have addictions now don’t we)!

Speaking of the roller rink, meeting there has led to a few rumors about us in Clarkston that we giggle about.  One is that CCF is a strange church because our services are not held in a conventional church building.  As a home church, we obviously do not have a conventional church building, with signs, etc.  But even so, we feel we’re in good and faithful company because the Book of Acts is filled with home churches.

Another rumor we heard is that CCF has a strange ritual of taking off our shoes before heading upstairs to the roller rink.  Well, we do that, and I confess many of us leave slippers there too.  But it is not a ritual; nor is it strange, it’s simply doing what Christians should be doing, and respecting the owner’s property because gravel, rocks, salt and dirt play havoc on a roller rink floor.

As a Church, our primary mission is to serve the Lord, our families and friends and our community’s needs.  As an outreach, CCF offers Biblical Counseling to the community.  No membership is required.  We want to serve the Lord, and we are blessed to help in your struggles today, knowing you may be helping any one of us in our struggles tomorrow.

The truth is, CCF is not any stranger beyond the unique strangeness of any church’s own individual member’s strangeness.  And we’d love to have you and yours join us, adding your own unique strangeness to ours, all are welcome.  As Solomon concluded in the Book of Ecclesiastics, eat, drink and be merry in the Lord, so please, join us for the Word of God, and stay for the potluck and fellowship too. And no, you don’t have to bring anything for the potluck.

Services are every Sunday at 10:45 AM to about Noon, 8570 Lazy Elk Road.  Parking is at the backside of the shop, where Lazy Elk ends, and Big Davis begins.  You should see the church sign there, but sometimes we forget to put it out.  The roller rink is on the second floor and the entry door between the house and the shop.  For people who have difficulty climbing stairs, we have a chair lift to help you get upstairs.  For further information, please contact either,
